This past June at University of St. Andrews in Scotland, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to History, Medieval Studies, and the Study of Religion, Zone author Caroline Walker Bynum was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters.

One of the most influential scholars of the Middle Ages, Bynum’s books include Fragmentation and Redemption, Metamorphosis and Identity, Christian Materiality, and most recently, Dissimilar Similitudes.
